White Plains Lithium Brine Project

Strategic lithium brine asset in a region of known key US battery minerals supply

LE Minerals has staked 6,180 hectares of mineral claims (768 claims in total) in Utah, United States (White Plains Lithium Brine Project or White Plains), which is considered prospective for lithium brine mineralisation. The Company has also acquired historical exploration data relating to areas within White Plains.

White Plains is located approximately 200km west of Salt Lake City and covers a large portion of a landlocked hypersaline salt pan bounded by mountains on three sides. The Salt Lake City region has become a focus for lithium and potash companies, including Intrepid Potash’s (NYSE: IPI) potash project at Wendover, and US Magnesium’s and Waterleaf Resources’ direct‑lithium extraction (DLE) projects at the Great Salt Lake.

White Plains is well serviced by nearby infrastructure, being located adjacent to US Highway 80 and 15km from the town of Wendover. The securing of the White Plains Lithium Brine Project aligns with LE Minerals’ battery minerals focus and is located in a mining‑friendly US state with a strong and growing demand for locally produced lithium.

Geophysics Confirms Basin Depth and Aquifers

Passive Seismic Survey
LE Minerals completed a passive seismic survey involving four east–west lines covering a total distance of 38km. The data provided insights into the subsurface characteristics of the White Plains brine aquifer, with interpretation indicating a depth to basement of up to 600 metres and a half‑graben basin structure, where aquifers typically occur adjacent to bounding faults within conglomerates and sandstone matrices.

Magnetotelluric (MT) Survey A magnetotelluric survey was conducted across 97 stations over five east–west lines to map the basin architecture. Results identified two potential aquifers — a near‑surface upper aquifer and a deeper aquifer commencing at approximately 200m depth with a thickness of around 150m. The presence of these two aquifers is highly encouraging and has enabled the development of a comprehensive geological profile of the White Plains Basin.

Auger Sampling Confirms Lithium Mineralisation

LE Minerals also completed a shallow auger sampling program comprising 22 samples collected at approximately one‑mile spacing and to a depth of 2m. All brine samples collected contained up to 100 mg/L lithium.

The presence of lithium mineralisation in all auger samples across the project area is highly encouraging and supports Lithium Energy’s geological model indicating the potential for significant lithium brine mineralisation at White Plains.
